A lake house sometimes is a second home or a retirement home and a growing trend in today’s market is for a smaller more charming cottage. However you don't want to build a home two small for a prime lake lot, so with the flexible build option you have a choice.
Instead of “minimum square foot” required for houses as most communities have in their covenants, ultimate flexibility where you can begin with a smaller cottage and /or a carriage house and over time expand with a larger home and a series of interwoven unique accessory buildings as your needs changes.
